The Walnut Energy Center is a 250 MW, 2-on-1 combined cycle plant,
consisting of two General Electric (GE) 7EA combustion turbines
with dry low NOx combustors, two unfired heat recovery steam generators
(HRSGs) and a common condensing steam turbine.
The HRSGs will be supplied with selective catalytic reduction for
additional NOx reduction. The owner is providing the combustion
turbines, the HRSGs, the steam generator and the SCRs. UE is responsible
for the design of Balance of Plant equipment including cooling tower,
Modular Control Buildings, Electrical Building, an Administrative
Building and Fuel Gas Compressors. Completion is scheduled for the
third quarter of 2005.
