BOX SHOP AND CAFETERIA ADDITION, Norfolk, Nebraska

Completion Date: 2000
UE designed this 38,500 square foot addition
to accommodate increased production and renovated an additional
10,500 square foot of space. UE engineers and architects
provided overall design including civil/structural, mechanical
and architectural design of the two-story addition.
Structural systems included precast and bar joists with insulated
metal panels and precast sandwich panels for exterior skin. The
lower levels are designed for manufacturing and production, with
offices and cafeteria on the upper level. Renovations included locker
rooms, restrooms and offices. Design was complete within approximately
1 month for this fast track project.
Additional civil, structural and mechanical projects were completed
by UE at this plant including a new mezzanine, concrete drives
and repairs, structural analysis of foundations and buildings,
a truck dock pit and analysis of a battery charging room.
