USA
Project Owner:
Calpine Corporation
Completion Date: June 2000
Pasadena Cogeneration Plant – Phase 2 was constructed by
the Calpine Corporation adjacent to the Phillips 66 Houston Chemical

the plant, and the remainder of the power is sold out on the grid.
The 2-on-1, 550 MW combined-cycle power plant consists of two Siemens
Westinghouse 501FD combustion turbines, two Nooter Eriksen three-pressure
reheat HRSGs, and a Siemens Westinghouse 180 MW axial flow steam
turbine with a 100% turbine bypass system.
It also includes three ABB generator step-up (GSU) transformers,
a twelve-cell GEA cooling tower, two Dresser-Rand gas compressors,
a 750 gpm two-pass RO system, and a Westinghouse WDPF controls system.
