Project Manager - AQCS
UNITED STATES; DENVER, CO
Individual will serve as a project manager, primarily for major Air Quality Control System (AQCS) projects. Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the management of assigned projects while making independent decisions and representing the company to meet project contractual requirements. Has full technical and management authority for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating project assignments. Makes decisions and recommendations that are required as authoritative and have an important impact on major project activities.

Civil/Structural Design Engineer

Responsible in the design office for engineering and design tasks of the specific engineering discipline of assigned projects. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Licensed Professional Engineer by exam.

Civil/Structural Designer
UNITED STATES; Denver. CO
Under guidance from project engineering, architectural, or technical services staff, assist in the planning, design and development of structural construction drawings for various projects. Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, on-site procurement, and installation supervision. Experience with "Structural Triforma" or "Frameworks" and Autocad 2005 or 2006 would be a benefit. Must have experience with Microstation. AA degree with 4 years experience (4 years drafting design experience) or 8 years of experience.

Controls Group Engineer
UNITED STATES; Denver, CO
Responsible in the design office for routine engineering and design tasks of the controls area of assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and results expected. Must have the following:

  • Bachelor Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or process/controls related engineering discipline or mechanical, electrical chemical, or process/controls related engineering technology from an accredited engineering program.
  • Five plus(5+) years experience in operation, maintenance, or design related in the controls field.
    Licensed Professional Engineer by exam.
  • Occasional periods of field/office work entailing travel.
  • May be required to work in an office, as well as an industrial plant environment.

Procurement Specialist
UNITED STATES; Amarillo, TX
Procures equipment, material and services at the best value to UE and UE clients. Assists in expediting activities between vendors, customers, contractors and UE project teams as required. Maintains knowledge of procurement procedures and processes. Maintains knowledge of equipment, material and services normally required on power generation projects. Assist in invoice disposition as required. Works with minimal direct supervision.
Must have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, purchasing management, or construction material logistics.
  • 3-5 years experience with engineered equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Developer Support I
UNITED STATES; DENVER, CO
Identifies, researches, and resolves a variety of technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. Participates in, and conducts technical training programs. Writes training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and designs laboratory exercises. Assists in the installation, maintenance, and general support of systems. Assists users with questions or problems. May require an associate's degree in a related area and no previous experience in the field. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the AEC or Commercial Software industries. As part of the group responsible for software development within the organization, the position is expected to assist in the development and maintenance of company websites. A basic knowledge of web design and HTML is required. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under general supervision. Solid communication and organizational skills are a must.


Mechanical Designer III
UNITED STATES; DENVER, CO
Must have 15 plus years Piping design experience in power or petro-chemical engineering drafting and design practices, in addition to educational requirements. Knowledge of Microstation and Plant Space 3d essential. Autocad and Cadworx software a plus. Demonstrate the ability to produce simple to complex engineering drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment From project scope general guidelines, plans, designs, and develops mechanical construction drawings for various projects. Civil/Structural Engineer

Responsible in the design office for routine engineering and design tasks of the civil/structural area of assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned Manager as to the required tasks and results expected. Essential Responsibilities

  1. Assigned specific projects to complete under the direction of the Manager and/or an experienced Lead engineer. Responsible for following project responsibilities as defined for the assigned project position.
  2. Assists technical service personnel in proper execution of drawings.
  3. Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the civil/structural engineering field.
  4. May serve as a representative of Utility Engineering Corporation when participating in Construction of new or retrofitted civil/structural systems under supervision of the field engineering staff or assigned supervisor. Two position open.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in civil/structural engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program.
  • Two (2) years experience in operation, maintenance, or design related in the civil/structural field. Experience with Finite Element Analysis of steel structures (STAAD, STRUDL and SAP) would be a great benefit.
  • Active pursuit of PE is plus.

Electrical Designer III

Electrical Senior Designer III

Seeking an Electrical Senior Designer who will be involved in application of general design practices. Will select and recommend procedures in design and prepare preliminary designs for Engineer's approval. Performs non routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, and coordinates the work. Reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical requirements and design approaches. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. May train and be assisted by lower grades. Position skills are heavily focused on electrical design, but have a working technical knowledge of other discipline design requirements. Must have the following: Associate Degree in Drafting/Design/Engineering Technology or equivalent job related experience (2 years job related experience equivalent to 1 year college).

  • 15 years experience in engineering drafting and design practices, in addition to educational requirements.
  • Experience with Microstation 2D and 3D.

  • Senior Mechanical Engineer
    UNITED STATES; DENVER, CO
    Responsibilities may also include role of lead mechanical engineer to support the design of power generation projects. Projects involve the design of simple-cycle and combined-cycle combustion turbine and coal fired steam power plants, and other utility projects. Responsibilities as a design engineer include contributing to overall mechanical design working with other engineers and designers, producing final construction documents and specifications, producing final procurement packages, assisting with the coordination of the mechanical design with the other disciplines and providing construction management services as appropriate for the mechanical engineering discipline. Must be familiar with or have some exposure to GateCycle, GT Pro thermal cycle modeling software and gas turbine performance simulation programs. Ability to model life cycle costs and prepare project proforma/plant performance. BSME, 6-10 years experience in power plant design, power plant operations, maintenance or field construction. Registered PE by exam preferred.


    Mechanical Engineer
    UNITED STATES; OMAHA, NE
    The position is responsible for mechanical design tasks in the industrial area of assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and results expected. The primary focus of the position is mechanical design for the industrial, utility, transportation and food processing sectors. (PE is preferred). Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program. Four years experience.


    Civil/Structural Engineer

    Project Manager
    UNITED STATES; OMAHA, NE
    Utility Engineering Corporation is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for schedule adherence, budget control, contract compliance, client satisfaction, problem resolution, project personnel direction and profitability. Ability to coordinate projects from earliest phases of budgets, design through issuance of construction drawings, final project completion close-out. Comprehensive knowledge of contracts agreements to participate in contract negotiations or settlements; understanding of contract terms and ability to recognize discrepancies; Comprehensive understanding of company policies, procedures, financial obligations as applied to projects. Ability to use e-mail, spreadsheet, word processing, database, etc. Familiar with CADD applications. Must have the following:

    • BS Degree in engineering technical specialty
    • A min. of 10 yrs' experience in plant design construction; min. 5 yrs experience in project management
    • Must have training or experience in project scheduling techniques
    • Experience in construction management preferred in the industrial , transportation or bio-fuel sectors
    • P.E. required


    System Administrator
    UNITED STATES; DENVER, CO
    This position is responsible for the install of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IS/IT industry. Must be able to work in an ambiguous and uncertain environment, find potential solutions, and present those solutions to management or a team. Along with a desire to effect positive long term change within a complex environment. Desired Experience:

    • Windows Platform network, server, domain, and SQL/Exchange technologies as covered by MCSE course materials. (MCSE is not necessarily required.)
    • Server hardware experience is desired but any hardware experience as covered by the A+ course materials is sufficient (A+ certification is not required).
    • Must have strong troubleshooting ability that transcends just "rebooting the system."
    • Specific AD, Exchange, SQL, security standards, enterprise server/storage planning and maintenance experience. (Examples welcome)
    • Routing (VPN), Routing (WAN), infrastructure planning, edge security (firewalls).
    • Phone systems, security systems.
